A stunning drive from Lake Hume to the source of the Murray River
Beginning at the historic Bethanga Bridge in Bellbridge, the 155 km Great River Road traces the pristine Upper Murray, guiding travellers through breathtaking landscapes and charming rural communities. The journey culminates in either Corryong - renowned for its connection to The Man from Snowy River - or Khancoban, nestled in the foothills of the majestic Snowy Mountains.
Along the way, marvel at dramatic natural landmarks like Pine Mountain and Mount Mittamatite, soak in sweeping views across to the Main Range, and follow the sparkling ribbon of the Murray River as it winds through the countryside. Whether you're casting a line, exploring on foot, or simply taking in the serenity, this is your chance to soak up the ‘slow-life’ of at ‘undiscovered’ end of Australia’s most iconic river.
