Stretching 155 km between two of Australia’s iconic landscapes, the Upper Murray River and the Snowy Mountains, the Great River Road is a scenic drive that follows the route of the iconic Murray River from the quiet town of Bellbridge on Lake Hume in North East Victoria to the Snowy Mountains township of Khancoban.

The Great River Road is a proper driver’s and rider’s road, a wonderfully scenic driving route tracing the early course of the mighty Murray River. Flanked by national and state parks, and lake and river reserves, the route is one of the best roads for drivers and riders, offering plenty of slow-in, fast-out corners, winding bends, tight curves, and smooth, flat straights.

The Great River Road touring route follows the upper Murray River along the north-east Victoria and New South Wales border, through some of Australia’s most breathtaking scenery. Starting at Bellbridge in the east or Khancoban in the west, the drive is around 155 km and takes just under two hours non-stop.
